【摘要】:Thepurposeofthistechnicalreportistodescribetheoptimummethodsforsampletaking,polishingandetching,withaviewtopreparingamicrographicsurfacewhichaccuratelyrepresentsthesinteredmetalpart,whenviewedusinganopticalmicroscope.Thistechnicalreportappliestoallsinteredmetalsincludingthosesubmittedtocoreorsurfaceheattreatment.Itdoesnotapplytohardmetals,forwhichreferenceshallbemadetoISO4505andISO4499.Itcanbeappliedtometalmaterialscontainingasubstantialamountofnon-metalliccomponents(e.g.frictionmaterialsandcermets).Thespecialproceduresrequiredforthesematerialsaregivenin4.6.3.NOTE—Themethodsdescribedmayalsobeusedforthemicrographicexaminationofunsinteredpowdercompacts.Insuchacase,theproceduresshouldbeadaptedtothematerial,e.g.:cleaning(removingpressinglubricant),impregnation,sectioningorcut-off.Itisalsopossibletoexaminethemorphologyorthestructureofloosecompactpowder(see4.4).
