【摘要】:ThisInternationalStandarddescribesamethodforthedeterminationoftheresistanceofvulcanizedrubberstofatigueunderrepeatedtensiledeformations,thetestpiecesizeandfrequencyofcyclingbeingsuchthatthereislittleornotemperaturerise.Undertheseconditions,failureresultsfromthegrowthofacrackthatultimatelyseversthetestpiece.Themethodisrestrictedtorepeateddeformationsinwhichthetestpieceisrelaxedtozerostrainforpartofeachcycle.Analogousfatigueprocessescanoccurunderrepeateddeformationswhichdonotpassthroughzerostrainandalso,incertainrubbers,understaticdeformation,butthisInternationalStandarddoesnotapplytotheseconditions.Themethodisbelievedtobesuitableforrubbersthathavereasonablystablestress-strainproperties,atleastafteraperiodofcycling,andthatdonotshowunduestresssofteningorset,orhighlyviscousbehaviour.Materialsthatdonotmeetthesecriteriamaypresentconsiderabledifficultiesfromthepointsofviewofbothexperimentandinterpretation.Forexample,forarubberthatdevelopsalargeamountofsetduringthefatiguetest,theteststrainwillbeill-definedandthefatiguelifeislikelytodiffermarkedlyunderconstantmaximumloadandconstantmaximumextensionconditions;howtheresultsforsucharubbershouldbeinterpreted,orcomparedwiththoseforotherrubbers,hasnotbeenestablishedbybasicwork.Asageneralguide,arubberforwhichthesetdeterminedinaccordancewith8.5and9.2exceedsislikelytofallintothiscategory.Forthisreason,themethodisnotconsideredsuitableformostthermoplasticelastomers.Similarconsiderationsapplywithregardtootherchangesinelasticitybehaviourduringtesting.AdistinctionshouldbemadebetweenthisfatiguetestandtheflexometertestsdescribedinthevariouspartsofISO4666-1,wherefatiguebreakdownoccursunderthesimultaneousactionofstressandtemperature.AdvantagesovertheDeMattiaflexcrackingandcutgrowthtest(seeISO132)includethefollowing.Thetestyieldsquantitativeresultswhichdonotdependonoperatorinterpretationandwhichcanberecordedautomatically.Theinitialdeformationisclearlydefinedandcanreadilybevariedtosuitdifferentapplications.Greatcautionisnecessaryinattemptingtorelatestandardtestresultstoserviceperformancesincethecomparativefatigueresistanceofdifferentvulcanizatescanvaryaccordingtothetestconditionsusedandtothebasisbywhichtheresultsarecompared.GuidanceontheselectionoftestconditionsandontheinterpretationofresultsisgiveninAnnexA.
